How do I get an item to the front page?
When a link is submitted, it appears in the recent section. People vote on articles in this section and increase its score. As an article's score goes up, it moves higher up the headlines section. If the score is high enough, it will appear on the front page.
What can I submit?
Anything that can be linked. Since community determines the rankings, they will figure out whether they like it or not. In order to submit anything, you'll need to create an account. Illegal material of course, will have to be taken down and are generally flagged by the community fairly quickly.
How does the scoring work?
Every time you vote, the score on the article is bumped up by 10 points. As time goes by, your vote counts less and less to the total score. This ensures that stale articles don't continue to dominate the headlines.
What are the "Recent" and "Headlines" tabs?
The Headlines section contains articles that have the highest score. These are recent articles that voters liked the most. The Recent section is ordered by 'most recently voted'. When someone votes for an article, it appears at the top of this page. When an article is first submitted, it also appears at the top of this section. To discover good stories to bump up to the headlines, go through the recent section to see what's available.
How can I get people to notice my submission?
Firstly, the content must be interesting for the audience. Random submissions generally do not do well. Once you have an interesting link, its important to have a eye-catching title and a good summary. If the title doesn't catch people, they'll never even know that the link was great. 80% of the battle is getting people to click on your link to read it.
What is "ken"?
